The {{Moved to}} and {{Moved from}} tags are related to {{Resolved}}, but are meant to be placed at the top of sections on talk pages and other discussions, to indicate when a discussion has been moved elsewhere. It serves as a reminder for editors not to add any more to the discussion, except at its new location, unless strictly necessary.

Place the following under the topic heading on a talk page:

{{Moved discussion to|New location|2=~~~~}}
Talk:Archive сирэйгэ көстө: --JohnDoe 26 Ахсынньы 2024 08:56 (UTC)

The first parameter is the full page name of the new location and should include the name of the topic as well if it isn't identical in both places, in the form Namespace:Pagename#Topic.

The second parameter, |2= or |reason=, an additional comment explaining why the discussion was moved, and/or to sign so that others know who marked the thread as resolved, is optional, especially if a comment retained below the heading makes it clear who did the move and why. If used, it should fit on one line, and the explicit |2= or |reason= is necessary if there are any "=" characters in the message, for example if your raw signature contains the character, which is quite common. Example:

{{Moved to|Talk:Article|2=Articles have been updated with 2007 data, and are now in sync. --~~~~}}
Talk:Article сирэйгэ көстө: Articles have been updated with 2007 data, and are now in sync. --JohnDoe 00:26, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

The corresponding {{Moved from|Talk:Article|2=Optional message. ~~~~}} would be placed under the topic heading of the discussion after it is pasted into its new location, usually with the same or a similar message, so that the reasons for the move are clear on both ends.
